Nothing Great Comes Without A Risk

Text for Today: 2 Kings 7:1-20 “And they rose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there.” (vs. 5).

Living with fear stops us from taking risks, and if you don’t go out on the branch, you’re never going to get the best fruit. If you want it, go for it.

Take a risk, don’t always play it safe or you will die wondering. If you are willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.

When you see a man who is afraid of taking risks, you have simply seen a man who will eventually get nowhere in life. Take risk, if you win you will be happy; and if you loose, you will be wise.

The journey of life is punctuated with risks at every junction that will lead to the Promised Land. Thus, whoever runs away from taking risk is running away from breakthrough of life.

As a result of risk, many people become indecisive and complacent. From our text for today, the fourth verse tells of the analysis made by the lepers, but they took a step of faith, that was covered with the garment of risk, only to see that God had taken care of the situation they were initially scared of.

Beloved, taking risks cannot kill you; rather it will attract heaven’s attention to your side as a covenant child. The risk that those lepers took attracted divine intervention, which made their steps to sound like steps and marching of thousands of warriors both on the ground and horses, which forced the enemies to flee.

I charge you to rise up and take the required risks before you, for I know God had already done something that will turn your situation around.  Breakthrough is at the other side of risks.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: Matt. 14:22-29.

Covenant Prayers

  • Father, I thank you for all your diverse works in my life.
  • I cast out every spirit of fear and indecisiveness from my life.
  • I receive grace to take steps of faith and risks when necessary.
  • Father, cause my adversaries to flee, as I take steps of faith.

QUOTE: “WHOEVER RUNS AWAY FROM TAKING RISK IS RUNNING AWAY FROM BREAKTHROUGH OF LIFE.”
