BE EXPECTATNT OF A DIVINE TURNAROUND (Tuesday, 28th October 2025)

Text for Today: 2 Kings 7:1-16 “So a seah of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the Lord.” (vs. 16).

Whatever you don’t expect, you cannot become, neither can you enjoy it. Samaria had reached its breaking point. The ancient capital of Israel was crumbling under the long oppressive siege by the Syrian army. Despair and desperation took hold of the people in the face of severe food shortages and runaway inflation (2 Kings 6). In reaction, the king of Israel sent a search party for the prophet Elisha with the intent to kill him. The Bible doesn’t say why the king wanted to kill him, but an online Jewish encyclopedia suggests the king would have killed Elisha if he didn’t pray to God and get the famine off the land. Either way, when the king of Israel approached Elisha, the prophet already heard the word of the Lord.

He said this time tomorrow the famine would be broken (2 Kings 7:1). It was a turnaround word, and everything the prophet said came to pass. In just one day, Samaria had miraculously turned around, and the Syrians did not get a foothold in Israel. A turnaround is a “complete change from a bad situation to a good situation, from one way of thinking to an opposite way of thinking.” The word turnaround has come up in my heart again and again in recent weeks, particular as we approach our church’s annual convention, with TURNAROUND as the theme, because of what God is set to do in our lives. Beloved, as this year goes to an end, God is bringing something big our way. I admonish you to hold on to His word, for the Bible says in Luke 1:45, “And blessed is she that believed for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: Luke 1:39-45.

Covenant Prayers

  1. Father, I give you praise for the breaking of this new day.
  2. I receive grace to be expectant of great things this end of the year.
  3. I come against any force that may want to soil my joy in life.
  4. Dear Lord, cause my helpers of destiny to locate me today.
