DON’T EAT THE SEED FOR YOUR FUTURE TODAY (Tuesday, 14th July 2026)

Text for Today: Heb. 12:1-11 “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (vs. 1b).

As we continue with our study on how to make our plans work out well, the sixth step is to MINIMIZE RISK IN THE CAUSE OF ITS EXECUTION. The Bible’s teaching about making plans teaches us to reduce those things that hinder us from reaching our goals. The writer of Hebrews speaks to this principle, “let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1). Sticking with my student example, if money is short then cut expenses. If grades go down, spend more time studying than watching TV or playing video games.

If you have to sell your car at the early stage of your business or even ministry please do so in order to secure the future. It may be cheaper to take a bus or bike (or even walk) to the shop or office. You have cut the cost of petrol, repairs, tires, insurance, and car payments. Cutting risk, cost, and unproductive tasks will give you a better chance of success. I look at some people at times and shake my head in pity, when I see them riding a car whose maintenance can kill their young business of little income. Beloved, don’t seek to impress anyone when you are still at the infant or tutelage age of your plans, if you want to rise in life. When the church I pastor started some eighteen years ago, there were many things I looked away from because I knew my finances could not accommodate them because of the stage of the ministry. However, God has given me grace to attend to those things now.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: 1 Cor. 9:19-27.

Covenant Prayers

  1. Father, I thank you for the gift of life of this new day.
  2. I receive grace to minimize risk as I execute my plans in life.
  3. I refuse to eat the seed of my future glory today.
  4. Dear Lord, prosper everything I will lay my hands upon today.
