SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO MAKE YOU A BETTER PERSON (Sunday, 16th August 2026)
Text for Today: Gen. 13:1-18 “Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me. If you take left, then I will go to the right…. (vs. 9).
In the journey of life, I have come across quite a number of people, whom I simply allowed to go pass me because they have nothing to add to my pursuit and dreams. If I had allowed them to stay when our paths crossed each other then, I won’t be where I am today and I will be solely blamed for it. Beloved, some people may not be happy with some of your decisions in the journey of life, you’ve got to stick to it once you have personal conviction about it. A big part of who you become in life has to do with who you choose to surround yourself with. Sometimes luck controls who walk into your life, but you decide who you allow to stay and who you pursue.
Ultimately, you should surround yourself with people who make you a better person and let go of those who don’t or may even cause you trouble and pain. From our text for today, it got to a point when Abraham realized that his continued stay and relationship with Lot and his men will bring his dream to a halt and thereby mortgaged his future, thus he chose to part ways with him. If Abraham had failed to do this, his destiny would have got stuck and not much would have been heard from him. It was immediately Abraham got separated from Lot that God spoke to him and launched him out into the next phase of his divine agenda. Beloved, its possible God is waiting on you to separate yourself from some unproductive and destiny slowing down people before He will take you to the next phase of your life. Be bold like Abraham was, and step into your inheritance.
