DON’T BE TOO BIG TO GIVE GOD PRAISE (Saturday, 23rd May 2026)
Text for Today: Ps. 103:1-12 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” (vs. 2).
God reveals certain things to you by what you go through for a purpose; don’t ignore what He shows you. Even when life may be difficult, we should thank God for all He does for us, which we do not deserve. Many years ago, when I went to Agodi Correctional Centre, in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, on the last day of a 3 day crusade for inmates, organized by the church, I was challenged and inspired when I saw the way the inmates praised God, as if they had no problem at all. The whole place was on fire as we praise God that day, even with limited musical instruments. They only had local drums and tambourines.
Many people are in our churches today, who feel too big when it comes to praising God, and you see them behave in a way as if they were the ones who brought everybody together, even when the pastor is dancing and celebrating the faithfulness of God in their presence. Some people do this out of their lukewarm attitude, while some are simply overwhelmed by numerous challenges they battle with in life. Like I often say to them in our church, whatever takes the praise of God from your mouth, will ultimately kill you one day. Beloved, never you join other ingrates who fail to thank God very well just because they are going through some issues, forgetting that there are numerous things money cannot buy which God gives them every day. Each time you are privileged to be in any Christian gathering, I charge you to give God quality praise. The psalmist says, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and enter His courts with praise.”
You are a Champion!
Further Study: Ps. 104:1-14.
