DON’T RUN AWAY FROM RESPONSIBILITIES (Saturday, 6th December 2025)
Text for Today: Joshua 1:1-9 “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you…” (vs. 7a).
Those who run away from responsibilities never find true fulfilment in life. After the death of Moses, Joshua was left with a huge responsibility of leading the Israelites to the Promised Land. Witnessing all that Moses passed through while carrying out that divine assignment, there was tendency for Joshua to be scared somehow about the enormous task that was just given to him, however the assurance of God came through to him. God promised Joshua His presence will go with him all through the journey, He also promised him success and prosperity but not without a price to pay. Joshua 1:5-6.
The condition to possess the presence of God was to be courageous and strong because if he loses courage at any point he might find it difficult to get to the Promised Land himself. Also, for him to be prosperous he must make the word of God to be his constant companion in that he must meditate on it day and night, and failure in doing this will rob him of God’s prosperity. Beloved, whatever blessing you will receive from God will always come with a responsibility. There is God’s part and there is man’s part. Though any breach of contract can only be traced to man because God is too faithful to fail. Whatsoever He said He will do. Therefore, if you also want to get to your Promised Land, like God said to Joshua, “Be courageous, be strong and pay attention to details of God’s word.” Nothing can stop a courageous man that has God on his side.
You are a champion!
Further Study: 1 Tim. 4:12-16.
