HE DIDN’T RUN AWAY FROM THE BATTLE LIKE OTHERS DID (Friday, 28th November 2025)

Test for Today: 1 Sam. 17:48-54 “So it was, when the philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran towards the army to meet the philistine” (vs.48).

Overcoming challenges; obstacles and hurdles of life is what develop in us the qualities needed to fulfill God’s plan for our lives. David had been a constant conqueror even before he came in contact with Goliath of Gath.  In 1 Sam. 17:34-36, David recounted his past victories before King Saul when he tried to dissuade him from confronting Goliath. What he did was to celebrate his past testimonies. He said while he was tending his father’s sheep, a beer and a lion came to devour the sheep but he smote them with his bare hand and he said this uncircumcised philistine will be like them.

Beloved, David was able to conquer Goliath because he had been able to conquer those wild animals. Until you conquer your lion and your bear, your Goliath will not appear. And do you know what happened after David killed Goliath? He became the rave of the moment, and the whole nation celebrated him. If you can’t kill your lion and the bear in the secret no one will give you a Goliath in the open. There are people looking up to you, don’t disappoint them by hiding in the cave like king Saul did for forty days and forty nights, so likewise the whole army of Israel. However, when David defeated Goliath the whole army of Israel became motivated, charged and defeated their own enemies. When you fail to conquer your Goliath people behind you will never become victorious. As you step out today, I charge you to go all out and defeat those lions and bears for a Goliath that will take you to your throne to show forth.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: 2 Sam 21:11-20.
