IT COULD ONLY HAVE BEEN BY HIS GRACE AND MERCY – Wednesday, 20th August 2025

Text for Today: 1 Thess. 5:12-22 “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (vs. 18).

See how far He has brought me is all I could say today, as I look back to reflect on my journey in life, as I celebrate another year in the land of the living today, August 20. It’s a great crime if I fail to give thanks, was what I told someone recently while I was counseling him, by reflecting on all that God has seen me through in life. At a point in my life, I worked as a server at parties across different cities in Nigeria, also at a point, I worked as a labourer on a number of construction sites in Lagos during my journey in life. And the climax of it all was when I lost my dad 33 years ago, but God came through for me and my siblings. Looking back to those years of struggles and thus far that God has helped me to get to today, it will be a great crime indeed if I fail to give God praise.

I don’t know what you’ve also gone through in life, you must give God praise for as long as you live. It is not always easy to give thanks, considering our present needs and challenges, but this is the very thing we must do in order to see God’s will accomplished in our lives. This is how we move into higher realms of faith for ourselves, for our city, and for our nation. Thanksgiving breaks the power of the enemy. Whenever you give thanks to God, despite the most difficult circumstances, the enemy loses a big battle in your life. When you give thanks in the midst of difficulty, you bring pleasure to God’s heart. He is looking for Christians who live in a realm of praise and thanksgiving where the enemy no longer has an ability to hold or manipulate that person.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: Philip. 1:1-18.
