LIVE A LIFESTYLE OF PRAISE ALL THROUGH THIS YEAR (Friday, 2nd January 2026)
Text for today: Ps. 92:1-15 “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High.” (vs. 1).
A song says, “I will never be ungrateful to you, Lord!” Only an ingrate will think God is not worthy of his praise continually. Glory be to God in the highest for the rare privilege you have to see this New Year, despite all that happened in the just concluded year. In the just-concluded year, we were all confronted with several challenges of life, and yet we scaled through by His grace. There are privileges only the living have, which must be greatly valued, or else he will regret it if he fails to do so. One of those privileges is the opportunity you have to praise God while you are still alive. Whoever fails to praise God is the one who will be at the receiving end of losing out on the accrued blessing and also get punished for being an ungrateful child.
Praise is the only thing God cannot do for Himself; thus, when you praise Him, He will do for you many things you cannot do for yourself. Each time you open up your mouth and lift up your souls and hands to praise the Almighty God, you are not doing God a favour; rather, you are the one paying the debt you owe Him. For everything God does for you in life, you owe Him thanksgiving. For the gift of life, breath of life, protection, divine leading, provisions, long life, and prosperity you receive from Him even when you do not deserve it, God expects you to give Him praise. In Psalms 67:5, the Psalmist made us to understand that each time the people of God give Him praise, the earth shall be compelled by the covenant power of praise to deliver what belongs to them.
