POWER TO TRIUMPH OVER REJECTION

Sunday Service (Sunday, 17th August, 2025)

Monthly Focus: Double Portion

Ministering: Pastor Wole Dahunsi

Topic: Power to Triumph Over Rejection

Texts: Isaiah 53:1-6; Gen. 3:23-24

Opening Charge: The Bible is a book of acceptance and rejection. In other words, the Bible tells the story of how some people and nations accepted and rejected the gift of God. It also tells us how God accepted and rejected some people and nations. It also has the accounts of cases where men accepted and rejected their fellow men.

Core Message

=> Rejection means to abandon, dump, exclude, discard, repel, refuse, deny, jettison, rebuff, etc.

  • Rejection means not to accept something. It means to turn someone down.

=> There is a power that each of us has to partake in, so that God and men will continue to accept us.

  • This way, even when some people choose to reject us, it won’t affect our lives and destiny negatively.
Rejection can come from four sources to man

1. Divine Rejection: Rejection from God.

  • Genesis 3: 23-24 – Adam and Eve.
  • 1 Samuel 16: 1 – King Saul.
  • 1 Samuel 3: 13-14 – Prophet Eli and his household.
  • Matthew 25: 12 – The 5 foolish virgins.
  • If God rejects you, no man can help you.

2. Rejection from the devil.

  • Zachariah 3:1-4 – Joshua, the high priest.
  • If you are weak spiritually and the devil rejects you, you will stay rejected.
  • If you are strong spiritually and the devil and his angels reject you, you will continue to fly.

3. Human Rejection: Rejection from a fellow human being.

  • Jephthah was rejected by his family members and stepbrothers after seeing the exploits he was doing.
  • Even when Jephthah was rejected, he did not reject himself.
  • Jesus was also rejected by men.
  • Isaiah 53: 1-3

4. Rejection from yourself.

Key Takeaways
  1. There is a spirit called the spirit of rejection, so there is a power needed to triumph over it.
  2. Whatever disposition a man will receive from God will be dependent on the actions of that same man, as God will not relate with you outside of what you have not done.
  3. When God proposes to do a thing, He does it perfectly.
  4. Many of you have faced rejection from fellow men in the course of your lives, so when men reject you, please don’t give up. (Elisha getting laughed at.)
  5. You may not be there yet, does not mean you will not get there someday.
  6. It is the spirit man that disciplines the body. 1 Cor. 9:27.
  7. Don’t reject how God made you. Accept the way God made you.

Closing Charge: If you reject yourself, no man can help you.

Prayers
  1. My Father, grant me grace to always love my life to please you, so I will not be rejected by you.
  2. No matter the manipulation of the devil and his agents, I will keep moving forward and going higher in Jesus’ name.
