Core Message

=> Jesus asked His disciples who people thought He was because His disciples related more with the people.

=> That was His way of finding out people’s perception of His person and assignment. If He could do this, then we have no choice but to do the same thing.

=> God wants us as His children to set out time to reflect on our journey so that we can be well-equipped to position ourselves for the journey ahead.

=> Reflection does not happen by accident. It is a deliberate thing, and this is the time to do that.

=> When you set time aside to take stock, it helps you to identify areas of success, shortcomings, and losses, and it helps you to proffer solutions in the coming year.

What happens when you reflect?

1. Reflection will require you to slow down, to see clearly.

2. Your successes and accomplishments remind you of your strength and what God has helped you to do.

3. Your failures and shortcomings remind you of areas you need to address and work on.

4. Reflection is the bridge between where we are and where we desire to get to.

Benefits of Reflection

1. Reflection reinforces learning and growth.

=> Reflection can turn your experiences into insights.

2. Reflection realigns us with our values.

Things to note down:

1. What you do with the past determines what the future will do to you.

=> What you do with the past will determine what the future will do to you.

2. The understanding of the past can facilitate the undertakings of the future.

3. It is not advisable to live in history, but it is commendable to learn from history.

=> To learn from the past is to lead in the future.

4. To learn from the past is to lead in the future.

=> The successful closure of the last chapter facilitates the successful opening of the next chapter.

What kind of spiritual reflection should we do?

1. Identify/reflect on what to appreciate God for in this passing year.

2. Identify divine principles that worked for you that must be reworked again and again.

3. Identify what to do differently in the coming year.

4. Identify what and who to put behind. Philippians 3:13:14.

5. Reflect on all that the presence of God made possible in your life this year.

=> To experience this, keep His presence with you. It is the presence of God that makes the difference in our lives.

Key Takeaways

1. The journey of a year consists of 12 months. One of the things that makes people live purposeless lives devoid of impact is because they fail to reflect on their journey thus far.

2. Those who don’t reflect will keep on repeating the same mistakes and failing the test of life over and over, and this is a sign of stagnation.

3. If you don’t set out time to reflect, it will be difficult to reach your destination.

4. No two years are ever the same, but the failure of a particular year can keep manifesting itself if you don’t reflect on it.

5. God’s vision can never be aborted or changed. God will rather change man. Genesis 11:31-32.

6. Results become phenomenal when actions that were taken over that result become consistent.

7. You don’t discard something that has been working for you.

Prayers

1. For the next five minutes, worship God with the words of your mouth.

2. Father, whatever I need to address, correct, and change for my life to get better in 2026, give me grace to do so.
