THEY POSSESSED ONLY WHAT THEY FOUGHT FOR (Wednesday, 3rd December 2025)
Text for Today: Deut. 2:17-25 “Rise, take your journey, and cross over the river Arnor Look I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Hesbon, and his land. Begin to possess it, and engage him in battle. (vs. 24).
As Christians, we must always give thanks to Jesus for going to the cross and shedding His blood because through this act of Jesus the devil suffered ultimate defeat, and our victory has been paid for. This victory from curses and demon is promised to all believers in Christ. But the question is, “Why are many believers living in defeat instead of victory?” From the Bible, God promised the land of Canaan to all Israel but only a few occupied it eventually. Beloved, you need to know that, the children of Israel possessed only what they fought for not what God had promised. You do not get what you are promised; you only get what you fight for in life.
Many people get prophetic words and do not see them come to pass for the sole reason that they do not wage warfare from the position of the prophetic word. The promise of God, a prophetic declaration, or what Jesus had paid for on Calvary has to be received by our faith for it to be actualized in our lives. We have to move from merely professing what Jesus did for us on the cross to possessing what He did. We must understand that victory from the cross does not remove fighting, or contending instead, it rather empowers us to go into battles and come out victoriously unhurt. You cannot sit on the sidelines and play the victim. The cross of Jesus had already made you victorious. You need to rise up and possess what is already yours through fight of faith and spiritual warfare. May you see all your divine promises come to pass in the name of Jesus.
