THOSE WHO TRULY BELIEVE HIM DON’T ARGUE WITH HIS WORDS (Tuesday, 30th September 2025)
Text for Today: Matt. 18:21-35 “Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I hard pity on you.” (vs. 33).
Those who sit down to argue with the teachings and parables of Jesus need to be checked, if they were truly born again. Whatever is clearly stated in the Bible should not be debated and argued over, if we truly are Jesus’ disciples, and this is a sure way of living our lives to please Him. And one of the things we must stay away from debating and arguing against is the instruction of forgiving those who wronged us, even when they do it intentionally. I was in my office when one of my daughters in the Lord came and asked. How can I know that God has forgiven me my sin? I just told her that once you have genuinely repented of your sins, believe that God has heard and also go ahead and forgive yourself for the sin you have committed.
Most Christians don’t feel forgiven after confessing their sins because they have not learnt to forgive themselves, or the people who have hurt them. Forgiveness comes from God through true repentance not only when you forgive others their sins. God forgives us the moment we repent of our sin, but often the feeling of forgiveness doesn’t come until we make up our minds to forgive those who have sinned against us. And don’t forget to forgive yourself as well. Once God and the injured person have forgiven you, it is futile to keep tormenting yourself over something you have done. From our study for today, the unforgiving servant landed himself in serious trouble because he failed to forgive and overlook an offence not up to ten percent of what he was initially forgiven by their master. Be wise!
You are a Champion!
