THANKLESSNESS IS DANGEROUS TO YOUR EXISTENCE (Tuesday, 23rd December 2025)

Text for Today: 2 Cor. 4:1-15 “For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.” (vs. 15).

May the name of God Almighty be praised forever, who has kept us thus far in the journey of this great year, with just eight days to go and cross over into another New Year. What a marvelous God we serve! Reflecting on the journey of this year, it has been God all the way. When we remain an addict thanks-giver, we recognize that God exists and we are acting on the reality of His life as the very source and reason for our being. An addicted thanks-giver recognizes his total dependence on God, and this stems from realizing that everything going on in his life and all he has is the product of God’s sovereign control, grace, purposes, wisdom, and activity.

First, the psalms are filled with the call to give thanks. “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his court with praise, give thanks to Him and praise His name.” (Ps 100:4). Then Paul tells us. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything keep on giving thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” In Colossians, he also gave the command to be thankful. Beloved, I want you to know that thanklessness is dangerous to yourself and others. It dishonours God and leads to proud humanism or dependence on man rather than God (Rom. 1:21). In addition, it leads to bitterness, complaining and a joyless life (Heb. 12:15). Since thankfulness is a response to grace of God, its opposite; bitterness, with its companions; complaining and grumbling, are the product of an unthankful heart that fails to properly respond to the faithfulness of God.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: 1 Thess. 5:12-18.
