DON’T BE BOTHERED BY PEOPLE’S REACTIONS TO YOUR FAITH (Tuesday, 21st July 2026)
Text for Today: Acts 2:1-13 “So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean.” (vs. 12).
Only those who believe and serve the God you serve will be able to understand some of your actions at times. I often say to people that, very many times people around you who do not share your faith and believe will find it difficult to understand some of your stands and decisions in life. In such a situation, you don’t need to struggle or fight with them, just allow the end result to speak for itself. It does not matter what happen to you or around you, you need to know that people will see it differently and react to it differently as well. Don’t be surprised that what some people celebrate very well around you could become a source of disdain and mockery to others.
From our text for today, when those who dwell in Jerusalem, in fact the Bible called them “Devout men” heard the sound that occurred in Acts 2:2, they all came together. They were shocked, and called it “wonderful works of God”, Acts 2:11. However, the same event they referred to as the wonderful works of God, was mocked by some other people because they couldn’t understand it and said, “They were full of new wine.” Beloved, if you expect everyone to agree with your view or result, you will be frustrated in life. You need to answer this question, “Did everyone agree with the teachings of Jesus while He was even here on earth physically?” It is the spirit of God that gives men conviction about what they see or hear. Anywhere you find yourself, simply do what God has sent you to do no matter what people may say or do and let your results speak for you thereafter.
