HE KEPT HIS FOCUS AND REFUSED TO BE DISTRACTED (Sunday, 9th August 2026)
Text for Today: Gen. 41:14-43 “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, see, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.” (vs. 41).
Loss of focus in the place of one’s assignment has sent many people into frustration and early grave. Once the devil succeeds in making you to lose focus through the instrument of all manners of distractions he brings your way, you should forget about fulfilling your dreams in life. Not only that, loss of focus makes a man to become a victim of evil manipulations and everyone who comes across him will always shake their heads in pity for him, though they won’t be able to help him out. In my few years of journey on earth and particularly in ministry, I have not seen one man who is not focused and determined that get to his throne in destiny. Standing out in destiny in whatever you do and wherever you are requires focus and determination.
The young man from our text for today was a clear and good example of a man who refused to give up over his dream and remained focused despite series of persecution and humiliation he suffered. For thirteen years, his life was nothing to write home about except for few periods of being in charge of slaves in Chief Portiphar’s house and prisoners he met in the prison. In all that Joseph passed through, he maintained a good relationship with God and in prison, he kept his focus; setting his face like a flint on the throne. Beloved, it does not matter if you are also in the pit of life; you need to know that, there is a peak above the pit. If Joseph could make it despite all he went through, you also will make it in the name of Jesus. See you at the top!
