HER SEASON CHANGED CONSEQUENT UPON THE POWER OF HER SEED (Wednesday, 5th August 2026)
Text for Today: 2 Kings 4:8-17 “Then he said, about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.” (vs.16).
Seeds speak and seeds lead to multiplication. “What then is to be done for her” was the golden question Prophet Elisha asked his servant after the Shunammite’s woman took good care of them. That singular question asked by Prophet Elisha led to the miracle of a baby boy which terminated years of reproach in the life of the woman though she was rich. Every man on earth has his area of needs no matter the other areas he may be in affluence. If this woman had not been generous to the man of God, she would have died without having a child on earth, and what a disaster that would have been for her.
I see a lot of ignorant Christians these days in the kingdom, who thought they could take a short cut to the land of financial prosperity and fulfillment of one’s dream, by bribing God with numerous fasting and prayer, while they ignore the principle of seed sowing. It doesn’t work that way. Gen. 8:22 says, “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest time shall not cease.” From our text for today, the Shunammite’s woman thought it wise to provide accommodation and feeding for the prophet. Unknown to her however, her acts of kindness to the servant of God were seeds that would produce a harvest someday. Beloved, we can safely conclude that her season changed consequent upon the power of her seed. To what extent have you gone in the area of seed sowing? Begin and continue to sow seeds into God’s kingdom and seed of kindness and love into God’s servants’ lives and you will be shocked at the level of reward you will receive in life.
