WE ARE NOTHING WITHOUT HIS GRACE (Thursday, 20th August 2026)

Text: 1 Cor. 15:1-10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (vs. 10).

Men who know how to acknowledge the workings of the grace of God upon their lives will continue to abound in the works of grace. There is nothing a man can do successfully in life without the grace of God, because the strength of man has limitations. As I reflect back on the journey of the last one year and even far beyond, all I could see is God’s grace at work in my life, as I clock another year in the land of the living today August 20. Beloved, I hope you know that it is because you are alive that you are able to get some things done, and being alive alone is by His grace.

A music minister in our dear nation Nigeria was praising God in one of her albums and said, “Which business can a blind engage in and make profit except someone helps him, and which mountain or hill can a cripple climb without the help of someone else.” The song talks about how helpless we are as human beings without the grace of God at work in our lives. When grace rests upon a man, it takes him from behind and sets him ahead of his contemporaries. Without grace, you are absolutely nothing; you can’t amount to anything meaningful in life. This is what Apostle Paul realized before he made that statement in our text for today. Like he said, you are also what you are today by the grace of God. What Paul was saying is this: ‘What I have is to be traced to God, and not to any native tendency, nor to goodness, or any native inclination, or to any merit of my own, same as for me also today. Don’t be an ingrate, recognize and give God glory for the workings of His grace.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: 2 Cor. 3:5-6.
