HE CARES ABOUT WHAT WORRIES YOU (Saturday, 22nd August 2026)

Text: 1 Peter 5:1-11 “Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you.” (vs. 7).

It is wise to commit your life affairs into the hands of the Almighty who controls all things. Many people have cut short their lives because of fear of the unknown over things that didn’t really exist or matter. When you give yourself to worry, anxiety and begin to run from pillar to post, you can’t live long. Life is full of so many things that may make one to lose his or her sleep if care is not taken; particularly in Africa. But stop a bit, and think about it – does any of those things you worry about actually happen? If you would be truthful enough, you will discover that most of those things do not happen. So, why do you spend so much time worrying about what you cannot actually change by yourself?

According to our text for today, the Bible implores you to put your anxiety, your distracting care, on Him, for He cares for you; He has interest in what goes on in your life. As a covenant child of God, you are not in it alone; He has deep concern for you. Ps. 115:12a says, “The Lord has been mindful of us.” He, who knows that God cares for him, needs have no anxiety and run from pillar to post.  This is a plain reference to Ps. 55:22, “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he will sustain thee.”  He will bear both you and your burden. Instead of wasting your precious energy, worrying about things you cannot change, the best thing to do is to put that energy into prayer. He is the only one who can change and fix it; and you can only connect Him through prayer. He cares about what worries you and He can take care of it. Just give it to Him, no matter how hard it may be.

You are a Champion!

Further Study: Ps. 55:22; Phil. 4:6.

  1. Father, I thank you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
  2. I receive grace and ability to leave all my cares behind me.
  3. Father, take absolute control of my life as from today.
  4. As I continue to rely on you, oh Lord, let me not be put to shame.
