ANY GIFT FROM HIM COMES WITH PAIN AND TROUBLE (Monday, 25th August, 2025)
Text for Today: 2 Tim. 1:1-7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (vs. 7).
The devil is not a nice man at all, thus any gift that comes from him always come along with pain and trouble. Whatever does not come from God must be resisted vehemently, because it could pose great danger if we do not. Going through the Bible, we have so many instances where the devil wanted to lord his evil gift upon men, and how they said NO to it. One of such gifts is the spirit of fear that does not come from God, according to our text for today. Everyone experiences fear in their life. There are big fears we are very aware of and little ones we may not even realize we have. I’ve learned that it’s very important to understand what fear is and how it works against us. Because if we don’t, it can keep us from becoming what God created us to be, which means we won’t fulfill our purpose in the land of the living.
Fear is a tool the devil uses against us to make us miserable and destroy our vision and our lives ultimately. It begins as a thought and then creates emotions that can rule us. It often becomes a strong, intense feeling that tries to move us to undertake a foolish action or tries to prevent us from doing something positive that will take us further and farther in life. Because it’s such a common way that Satan attacks people’s lives, I think of it as the master spirit he uses to manipulate people and keep them out of God’s will. Simply put, fear is the opposite of faith. God wants us to walk by faith, and Satan wants us to walk by fear. The choice is yours whether you will listen to God or the devil. I charge you to always say no to whatever is not of God.
