It’s Our Faith That Activates The Power Of God

Text for Today: 2 Kings 6:8-23 “So he answered, Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” (vs. 16).

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed because of fear. Ruth Gendlen said and I quote, “Fear has a large shadow, but he himself is small.”

That means it is surmountable because of the real small size. Beloved, I want you to know that, the cave you fear to enter holds the treasures you seek, thus you must not be afraid to keep moving in the direction of your dream.

Fear is a weapon the devil uses against us to limit us, make us miserable and destroy our lives ultimately. It begins as a thought and then creates emotions that can rule us.

It often becomes a strong, intense feeling that tries to move us to make a foolish action or tries to prevent us from doing something that would be good for us. Because it’s such a common way that Satan attacks people’s lives, I think of it as the master spirit he uses to manipulate people and keep them out of God’s will.

Simply put, fear is the opposite of faith. God wants us to walk by faith, and Satan wants us to walk by fear. When we learn to live by faith and not let fear rule our life, we can live a fulfilling, satisfying, peaceful and joyful life in Christ.

Fear is only as deep as the mind allows it, thus you must guard your heart jealously. One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find out he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t do for a long time.

I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done can do away with fear.
