Opening Charge: There are things you get done through prayer, and there are things you get done through wisdom. Prayer alone cannot conquer distraction.

Core Message

=> If you are unable to handle the distractions of life, you can’t end well or fulfill your heart’s desires.

=> Lot’s wife got distracted, and the consequences of the distraction were many. Her children became motherless and her husband became a widower.

=> Wisdom is when you put into practice what you know, what you’ve been taught, what you’ve heard, and what you have been instructed to do.

What is Distraction?

=> Distraction means to take someone’s attention away from what he is trying to do.

=> Inability to pay full attention to something you are doing because you are worried about something else.

=> Distraction is an agent of mistake, and an enemy of distinction.

Channels through which distractions come

1. Distraction can come from the praises of men.

=>Thank God for the success you are getting right now, but do not let it get into your head.

=> Via wisdom, David was able to handle the praise of men and still remain humble. 1 Samuel 18:5-9;10-14.

2. Distraction comes when men engage in unhealthy competition.

3. Distraction comes from the wrong comments of people about you.

=> Nehemiah 2 – Sanballat’s and Tobiah’s comments to Nehemiah.

=> Jephthah’s brothers.
