DECISION AND CONSISTENCY: THE CATALYST FOR DOUBLE PORTION
Sunday Service (Sunday, 10th August, 2025)
Monthly Focus: Double Portion
Topic: Decision and Consistency: The Catalyst for Double Portion
Ministering: Pastor Wole Dahunsi
Texts: 2 Kings 2:2; Matthew 9:20-21
Opening Charge: Whatever you thank and appreciate God for becomes multiplied over your life.
Core Message
=> Catalyst is a kind of instrument that propels a thing to optimum performance. Things don’t work/happen on their own; they are made to work/happen. It is from the story of Elisha and Elijah that we will have a clear understanding of the words “Double Portion”. Isaiah 61:7.
Things to note while making decisions in life
1. Avoid fear: A decision made in fear will lead to regret. This also applies to anger, and when you are upset. A wrong decision may take years to correct.
2. Avoid foolish comparison when making decisions in life: Never become sad because of what someone else has. Your purpose and destiny are different from your partner’s own.
Key Takeaways
- The quality of your life is built on the quality of your decisions in life.
- No man can make progress in life without making the right decisions.
- Success is not made overnight; it is made over time, and it starts with a decision.
- Life presents many choices, but the choices we make will eventually determine our future. 1 Corinthians 9:27
- What we decide to do in life has the potential to shape our day, our month, our year, and even our destiny.
- We are free to choose our paths, but we can’t choose the consequences that come with them.
- Remember, life is short. Do things that matter the most, and have the courage to make tough decisions and chase your dreams.
- Decisions will never fulfil themselves. You have to be consistent in running your race. Your potential grows better when you consistently use it.
Consistency
- A man cannot fully become what God has created him to be without a deliberate act of consistency in doing what is good.
- Your talent, gift, and potential grow better when you consistently use and engage them.
- It is better to pray for 15 minutes daily and trust God to keep growing with that than to be praying 5 hours only once a week.
- Luke 18:1
Closing Charge: No good thing wants to get done, but you need to stay consistent. Elisha chose to be consistent to get a double portion.
Prayers
- Lord, every wrong decision I have made in the past that has brought pain and regret into my life, let your mercy bring me out of it.
- My Father, my Father, the grace to make the right decisions, release it unto me today, so that my future will be greater.
- Power to be consistent in whatever I do in my career, business, and in my relationship with you, dear Lord, release it upon me today.
