GREAT POSSIBILITIES ABOUND THROUGH COURAGE (Friday, 17th July 2026)

Text for Today: Jos. 1:1-9 “Be strong and of good courage for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.” (vs. 6).

I have not seen a fearful man who ever made it to the top of the ladder in life. This is because a fearful man will always have many reasons why he cannot succeed even when others are making headway in the same pursuit. A destiny becomes a tool the devil tosses around the way he wants in the absence of courage, and you can be rest assured that such a life will end in disaster. Beloved, courage is not simply one of the virtues but the form of every virtue at the testing point. The fact is, courage is a powerful quality that animates all the other virtues in your life because to have the courage of your convictions and to follow through requires a measure of risk in this world, particularly if your convictions are based upon revelation.

That is a tremendous risk for a man to take, because to obey God means that we treasure the unseen. The things that are seen are temporary. The things that are unseen will endure forever. From our text for today, God encouraged Joshua before the conquest of the Promised Land and He repeatedly gave him this word of comfort and encouragement to be strong and courageous. If Joshua had not taken to the counsel of God, the Israelites would have become victims in the hands of their adversaries and would not be able to possess the Promised Land. Courage in the life of a leader is very vital to what will happen to the followers. If the leader is weak, the followers are in for a big trouble and calamity. Beloved, great possibilities abound this second half of the year, just be courageous.
