Other People’s Opinion Shouldn’t Become Your Reality
Text for Today: Mark 5:35-42 “He said to them, why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” (vs. 39).
What you think of your life and your pursuit is far more superior than the counsel of the wicked ones. One of the worst prisons people live in is the fear of what other people think.
If you allow other people’s opinion throw shade on your dream, your vision, your confidence or your action taking; then their opinion will become a self-fulfilling prophesy. People have the right to their opinion, and you have the right to ignore it and simply focus on your dream.
Don’t let the noise of other people’s opinion drown your own inner voice. Someone said and I quote, “If you fuel your journey on the opinions of others, you are going to run out of gas.”
From our text for today, while Jesus was following the ruler of the synagogue to his house as requested, some people came to inform the man that he needed not to trouble Jesus again because his daughter was dead. They couldn’t believe what Jesus told them, when He said the girl was sleeping because they only focused on the present situation and not what Jesus is able to do by the power of God Almighty.
They must have laughed hearing Jesus utter that statement. Beloved, I want you to know that your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.
When Jesus got to the house, the crowd was crying profusely, He went in and spoke to the dead girl and she came back to life immediately. He never allowed people’s opinion to stop Him from carrying out His mandate.
