HE ENJOYED THE PROMISE WHILE OTHERS LOST OUT (Wednesday, 13th May 2026)

Text for Today: Joshua 14:1-12: “Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how Anakin, were there, and that the cities were great and fortified” (vs.12).

In the absence of faith, it will be difficult to hold on to what God has promised. This is because, a man of great faith is fully persuaded that God’s promise cannot fail. This, in fact, is the excitement of walking with God. The best praying man is the man who is most believingly familiar with the promises of God. After all, prayer is nothing but taking God’s promises to Him, and saying to Him, “Do as thou hast said.” Beloved, a prayer which is not based on a promise has no true foundation. As a child of God, at any point you give up on the promises of God for your life, the devil will take over the affairs of your life and will begin to dictate what comes in and goes out of your life.

A covenant responsibility God has given us as His children is that of appropriating and claiming what He has promised and hold on to it until it is delivered. When God told Moses to send out twelve spies to go and spy the land of Canaan, all of them were given equal opportunity to see, view same image, they stepped on the same soil but only two people saw opportunity while the rest saw defeat. From our text for today, Caleb saw a land flowing with milk and honey, no wonder he was able to take possession of that which he saw forty years after. What you see has the capacity to inject into you, strength to forge ahead. What are you seeing concerning your career, marriage, academies and business? Caleb asked for the mountain he saw forty years ago and he got it because he doubted not the promise of God and the word of Moses His prophet.

You are a champion!

Covenant Prayers

  1. Father, I give you praise for the privilege of seeing today.
  2. Dear Lord, watch over your word and perform it in my life.
  3. Whatever wants to impair my faith sight, I destroy in Jesus’ name.
  4. By faith I take my possession as promised by God in Jesus’ name.
