PRAISE BRINGS US TO A PLACE OF HUMILITY (Fri Apr 4)
Text for Today: Psalm 95:1-11 “For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods.” (vs. 3).
Those who know how to stay humble in life cannot walk out of God’s plan for their lives. If there’s any virtue in life that will make a man to retain all that God has blessed him with and even increase all the more, it is humility. That is why the devil is using the weapon of pride to deny many people of their covenant inheritances in God. However, there is a pathway that can help us as believers to possessing the virtue of humility; it is a lifestyle of praise. Thus, the second thing the power of praise can do is that, PRAISE BRINGS US TO A PLACE OF HUMILITY. We remember our dependency on God, as we acknowledge our need for Him. As we praise Him as Creator and King of this world, we admit and recognize that we’re not in control, but He is. He is above all. We are nobody without Him, and nothing holds in the future except by His power and help. Living a lifestyle of praise will constantly remind you of this truth and make you to be more humbled in all your ways. A man who fails to praise God regularly will soon become a victim in the hand of pride. Our text for today says, “Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” As great as King Nebuchadnezzar was, he was brought down by God because he failed to acknowledge the place of God in his life and kingdom. Beloved, I want you to know that, God will never share His glory with any man, thus be careful not to cross His path through ingratitude and pride. Be wise!
