LET YOUR PAST GO AND STEP INTO A GLORIOUS FUTURE (Monday, 16th February 2026)
Text for Today: Is. 43:14-21 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.” (vs. 18).
Those who make their past a place of residence and not a point of reference eventually lose their position in the future. Your ability to break away from the ugly experiences of the past and focus more on today and the future, is the key to living a fulfilled life. Those who still stay in their future today will at the end of the day have nothing new to celebrate. Starting life over again is something we must do every second. We must not wait until we want to start a New Year, but at any point we feel we need to make some amends and new moves. Our text for today says, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old,” if you want to experience anything new in life.
Also, from our further study for today, if Jephthah had not broken away from his ugly and painful past, he wouldn’t have become great in life ever again. If he was still wallowing in tears over what his step brothers did to him, nobody would have ever come to him to seek for his help much later. While it was his step brothers who drove him out so that he won’t have any part in their father inheritance, the whole nation came to beg him to become their leader. It’s like saying someone will not become a local government chairman and the whole nation turned around to beg him to become their president. That is the beauty of your capacity to let your past go and step into the future. It does not matter what took place in your past, I want you to know that there are much better things waiting ahead of you in the future. Your future shall be glorious in Jesus name.
