STOP FOCUSING ON WHAT OTHERS HAVE THAT YOU DO NOT (Wednesday, 18th February 2026)

Text for Today: Matt. 25:14-28 “But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money.” (vs. 18).

Focusing on what other have at the expense of what you have will make a man to become an ingrate and achieving nothing good out of life. Beloved, I want you to know that, till the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, there will always be some people around us who will be in possession of things we may not have access to that particular time. Nobody has it all at a go, and that is why the Bible says, precept by precept, line upon line. In putting up any kind of structure, you need to start from the scratch and keep developing it. In the same vein, the journey of life that will end in the Promised Land also needs to go through a process.

My counsel to you this beautiful morning is that, while you are going through your own process, do not compare yourself with anyone, or become sad because of what your neighbour has that you do not have at the moment. An issue you must settle in your heart for you to make great impact on earth is for you to know that you are specially made by God for a special assignment on earth. It’s so easy to look at other people’s progress and belittle your own. Nothing can be more disastrous than using someone else success to measure your growth. That was the great mistake made by the foolish and lazy servant as we have the account in Mathew 25:14-28, which led to his downfall. Many people have destroyed their lives by their own hands untimely because of terrible things they ventured into as a result of negative and demonic comparism. Be watchful!

Covenant Prayer                      

  1. Lord, you are worthy to be praised for the privilege of seeing today.
  2. I refuse to compare myself with others in Jesus’ name.
  3. Father, grant me grace to go through my process successfully.
  4. My life shall receive a major turn-around in Jesus’ name.
