NEVER THINK YOU DON’T NEED GOD AGAIN WHEN BEGIN TO RISE (Tuesday, 16th September 2025)

Text for Today: Judges 16:1-21 “Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave of the seven locks of his head.” (vs. 19).

Those who think they don’t need God again when they begin to rise, go to their early grave. “Be very careful of the dangers of comfortable season,” was the counsel I gave a young man who stopped coming to church when things started turning around for him. This is a great mistake many children of God make, and they pay for it dearly. Never think you don’t need God again when you think you have arrived. In fact, that is when you need Him most because some people don’t want you to stay long on your throne in life.  This was the same mistake that Samson made, which brought him down in life, and it was a terrible disaster for him.

Samson was able to handle the might of a thousand soldiers single-handedly, but he couldn’t handle the loneliness of an empty room along with Delilah. So, he finished up his destiny on Delilah’s lap. You know Delilah’s weapons were not her hips, lips, and fingertips. Rather, it was Samson’s tiredness and inability to be careful during his season of comfort and exploits. Beloved, your Delilah can be anything that comes into your life to deplete your strength and turn your back against your God and His instructions. It can be a career, a relation, or a habit. It is what you turn to when you need escape. Your Delilah may delight you tonight, but she will destroy you tomorrow. Samson stayed too long; he talked too much and lost everything on Delilah’s lap. You cannot be playing with Delilah and still expect to be in possession of the abundant grace of God. Paul said in Rom. 6:1 “… shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?”

You are a Champion!

Further Study: Gen. 3:1-19.

Covenant Prayer

  1. Thank you oh Lord for this brand-new day.
  2. I reject today, every form of habit that may cause my downfall.
  3. Every Delilah from the pit of hell, I command you to die.
  4. Every evil counsel of the enemy to bring me down shall fail.
