POWER AND ITS ATTENDANT BENEFITS (Tuesday, 18th November 2025)

Text for Today: Luke 10:17-20 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (vs. 19).

God will never ask you to seek for what will not be of great blessing to you. Whatever is required of us as one of the virtues we must possess as believers definitely has its attendant benefits. However, no one can gain access to the power of God without having a relationship with Him. You cannot have access to a thing from a man unless you first gain access to the person. To access the power of God, you must know the God of power. It is the custodian of a treasure that determines the measure that you can have. Do not only seek his power, seek his face.  Ps 63:1,8, 105:4. It is the longing of your soul for Him that commands the flow of His power. Until you have access to God, you cannot draw power from God. Gen 32:28; 33:4.

Let us now consider the purpose of power briefly. (i) IT IS TO BRING UNDER ALL THINGS CONFRONTING YOU. When you enjoy God’s power, no force can lord itself over you again. God’s power grants you dominion in life. Luke 10:19. (ii) TO ENJOY SUPERNATURAL AFFLUENCE. When you gain access to the power of God, you begin to experience supernatural affluence beyond your understanding. Joel 2:23-26. (iii) TO OCCUPY YOUR PLACE OF HONOUR AND DIGNITY IN GOD’S END-TIME VISIONARY ARMY. Joel 2:7. A man of power never experiences shame, because God’s glory will be at work in his life. (iv) IT IS THE ONLY INSTRUMENT FOR RELEASE. Moses could embark on a release mission to Egypt, the same place he ran away from, only on the ticket of God’s power. (Ex. 3:19-20; Ex. 4:1-4, 17.)
