VERY MANY TIMES, LOOKS MIGHT BE DECEPTIVE (Sunday, 14th December 2025)
Text for Today: 1 Sam. 16:1-13 “So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him.” (VS 13)
“Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him,” was what Prophet Samuel said after he looked at the size and dressing of Eliab, before God warned him not to make a mistake of anointing the wrong person. It is good to look nice and dress well, but it will not be the way to go, to rate a man by what he wears or how he looks only. Very many times, looks might be deceptive. Beloved, I want you to know that, there is a giant and a hero inside every man you come across in life that is waiting to be unraveled and explored. Though it is important for everyone to dress nice and good, however, if you come across someone who is not dressed up to your own standard or taste, don’t make the mistake of despising or looking down on such a person, because he might the one in charge of what you are looking for.
From our text for today, when David who was God’s choice came eventually, he didn’t look like someone who will be considered for any assignment by God. The giant in David began to manifest as from that day after he was anointed by Prophet Samuel. Beloved, the situation of things around you cannot stop the giant that is in you from showing forth, if you will wake him up with covenant sense and wisdom. It does not matter the story that surrounds your birth when you came into the world, you didn’t come by mistake or by chance, you simply came at the right time. I pray for you today, that God Almighty will wake up the giant in you in the name of Jesus.
