Wanting To Be Someone Else Is A Waste Of The Person You Are
Text for Today: Rom. 8:28-31 “Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.” (vs. 30).
One of the greatest challenges in life is being yourself in a world that’s trying to make you like everyone else. Someone will always be prettier, someone will always be smarter, someone will always be younger, but they will never be you.
Don’t change so people will like you; like yourself and the right people will love the real you. Stop trying to be someone else was the wise counsel I gave to a young man who told me there was nothing he had not tried to succeed but failed.
What I discovered as the base of his problem was that, all that he had ever attempted doing was what he saw his friends and other people do, he never had a clear cut dream or vision for his life. At 35, he had lived all his life trying to be someone else, and has landed him in deep frustration.
God will always arise to help you to become all you can be, but He will never help you to be somebody else. Very many times we look at people we love and admire and we wish we could be like them.
Trying to be somebody else other than yourself makes you get lost a midst the crowd. I am not saying it is wrong to admire and be inspired by other people but in doing so you must recognize that you also have a unique mandate and gift which God has given you to bless your generation.
You must be an addition and not a minus; you are a solution and not a problem in life. God has great plans for everybody, that’s why He designed us differently and we do not resemble each other.
You are a champion!
