Your Past Is Just A Story, Move On To The Next Chapter
Text for Today: Judges 11:1-11 “Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead and the people made him head and commander over them.” (vs. 11).
May the name of God Almighty be praised forever, who has brought us all safely into the this new month, the eleventh month of this great year. And it is my prayer that, may the Lord decorate your life with eleventh hour miracles in the name of Jesus.
You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one. Beloved, you must learn to leave who you were, love who you are, and look forward to who you will become. The best thing about the past is that, it shows you what not to bring into the future.
Just because your past didn’t turn out like you wanted it to, doesn’t mean your future can’t be better than you ever imagined. We do not heal the past by dwelling there; we heal the past by living in the present.
Don’t live in it, don’t feel trapped in it; set yourself free and just be. Beloved, your life today is more than what happened yesterday, it’s all about what you do with whatever happened yesterday.
You must let go of the past, but keep the lessons it taught you. Someone said and I quote, “Don’t stumble over something behind you.”
From our text for today, Jephthah’s family background was horrible and pathetic, he was born by a prostitute, kicked out of the house by his brothers, robbed of his inheritance, disappointed in religious leaders, became a refugee, a rebel among vain men in a land called Tob.
However, Jephthah refused to give up to fate, he trained vain men to become military men, which made him a solution to the problem his people found themselves.
HAPPY NEW MONTH!
You are a Champion!
Further Study: Phillip. 3:12-21.
Covenant Prayers
- Father, I thank you for this brand new month you made me to see.
- I receive grace to forget all that happened to me in the past.
- Every plan of the enemy that wants to destroy me today shall fail.
- I shall triumph and do exploits wherever I was rejected before.
QUOTE: “YOU MUST LEARN TO LEAVE YOUR PAST BEHIND YOU, IT’S HISTORY, NOT REALITY.”
