Pride Build Walls Between People, Humility Builds Bridges
Text for Today: Prov. 27:1-17 “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” (vs. 17).
Pride is a spiritual cancer; it eats up the very possibility of love, contentment or even common sense. Pride is a very dangerous disease that can turn your talent, assets and achievements into a handicap.
Pride never admits its failures; instead, the prideful person continues to push forward, blindly seeking self-gratification. Rick Warren says and I quote, “Pride builds walls between people, humility builds bridges.”
Some people have remained on the same spot for a long time because of the virus called pride. Their ego and pride made them to disconnect from those who have been positioned by God to help them get to their throne in life.
Life is in phases and men are in sizes, thus if you will go far in life you’ve got to humble yourself and learn from those who are ahead of you, so you also will experience a shift in position. The truth is, those who are ahead of you today also learned some things from some people yesterday to get there.
I see many people who need wise counsel, but those who could help them out, I mean their God-sent counselors are being warded off with their unwholesome attitude and self-sufficient mentality. Take note of this, no matter the height you have gotten to, no matter the achievements you have or grounds you have covered, for you to really move up to a better platform, you need the help of God through men.
You must not allow pride to make you to disconnect from them, because the journey is still very far.
You are a champion!
