He Trusted His Word More Than The Situation On The Ground
Text for Today: Luke 5:1-11 “Nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” (vs. 5).
Situations and circumstances are forever before us in our journey to our destinations in life, but believing the word of God above them is a sure way to ending your journey well in life. Expect God to reward you for your faithful obedience along the journey of overcoming your challenges.
When you obey God’s word, He will lead you to a greater level of faith and responsibility, so that you’ll keep growing spiritually and be able to move forward to victory over the challenges in your life.
Do whatever you sense God is telling you to do – from staying in your marriage when you feel like giving up, apologizing to a friend you’ve hurt, or forgiving a friend who’s hurt you, to getting out of debt, or giving more money to your local church.
From our text for today, if Peter had focused on his situation like he did before Jesus came when he started washing his nets and ignored the instruction Jesus gave him, he would have missed out of the great catch he had afterwards.
He ushered in blessings by obeying Jesus’ word, irrespective of his past failure all through the night when they had no catch. No one follows God’s instructions and end up as a failure in destiny, because God backs up the labour of whoever obeys His voice.
It will be that person working, but God working through his hands. That was what happened to Peter after he threw his net into the sea again when he was instructed to do so. Glory speaks when you hearken to God’s voice. I see you appropriating all that God has in stock for you this last quarter.
You are a Champion!
Further Study: 2 Kings 4:1-7.
