DON’T SLEEP WHEN YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHFUL (Monday, 25th May 2026)
Text for Today: Matt. 13:24-28 “But while men slept, his enemy came and sow tares among the wheat and went his way.” (vs. 25).
People who are not happy with themselves, cannot possibly be happy with you and your results, thus the need to be vigilant. Whoever is not sensitive spiritually will watch his labour ruined by the devil and his agents. Life is good when you run after your dream, but it becomes more glorious when you protect it jealously both physically and spiritually. There is nothing good in your life that is not a target of the wicked. I want you to know that, every good and righteous farmer sow in the daylight, but forces of darkness do their own sowing at night. From our text for today, the man planted good seeds in his vineyard during the day but in the night the enemy came and planted his own seed when the man had gone to bed on the same farm.
You will wonder why would someone go and plant tares on a farm that belongs to someone else. That is simply how the devil operates in life. The man in the story went to sleep when he was supposed to be watchful, that’s why as Christians, we must not joke with the night period. The night period is the time evil people work to perpetuate evil in the lives of children of God. The night prayer is a mystery and a means to survive the arrow of the evil ones. You can’t afford to joke with night prayer for at least one hour from time to time. Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane told His disciples, “Can’t you watch with me for just an hour.” You know the prayer of Gethsemane was a night prayer. Many destinies are crushed during the night; yours will not be crushed in Jesus’ name.
