DON’T LIVE UNDER FAMILY BONDAGE WHEN YOU CAN BREAK FREE FROM IT (Thursday, 28th August, 2025)
Text for Today: 2 Sam. 3:22-30 “Let it rest on the head of Joab and on all his father’s house; and let there never fail to be in the house of Joab one who has a discharge or is a leper…” (vs. 29).
In the spirit realm, the life of every man is patterned to go along what is obtainable in the family he came out from, except the person does something about it. As a believer, if you don’t say no to evil occurrences and evil pattern that is dominant in your father and mother’s house through spiritual warfare, you are bound to become its victim someday. Have you ever seen a family where the father has a problem with uncontrollable anger or adultery, his son seems to have been handed it, and the grandpa had the same problem. Or have you noticed that not only do you suffer from something such as strange disease or limitations, but your mother and her father also suffered from it as well.
There are many people today who are living under bondage that the sins or errors of their forefathers have brought them under. Some common symptoms of generational curses are family illnesses that seem to just walk from one person down to the next, continual financial difficulties (they continually hit roadblocks in their finances), mental problems, delay in child bearing, untimely death and many more. From our text for today, look at the curse and troubles Joab brought upon his father’s house because of his overzealousness in killing Abner. All that David said came upon his lineage. I charge you not to be complacent in dealing with generational curses and covenant through intense fasting and warfare prayers. May you rise above your father’s house evil pattern in the name of Jesus.
