MEN MAY FORGET YOU, BUT GOD CANNOT (Monday, 12th January 2026)
Text for Today: 1 Samuel 16:1-13 “And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, there remain the youngest….”(vs. 11).
I often say to them in our church that, this one and single life God has given you must be guarded and lived well so as to fulfil your mandate on earth, because there’s no extra life anywhere if you waste it. As a covenant child, you must not keep quiet and allow men to decide your destiny. Even if some people have to take decisions on what concerns you, engaging in spiritual warfare ahead of time will ensure they do that which will favour you. By the wiring and the make-up of a man, he may be up today and may be down tomorrow.
A man who once confessed his interest in your breakthrough may be the same person who would turn around to speak ill of you where it matters. That is why I often say to people wherever I go to preach the Gospel of Christ that, one should not be devastated by whatever men may do to you per time, you are the one that should remain faithful and committed to your dream in life. Such was the case of David from our text for today; his father must have confessed his love to him several times, particularly being the youngest boy in the house which is the practice in most homes. They call them “Baby of the House.” However, the so-called baby of the house was practically forgotten by his beloved father, but glory be to God who stepped in and ensured His counsel came to pass. Men may forget you, but as long as you remain in God’s agenda, you will surely find your way to the top. This New Year, in every area man may be saying you do not deserve to be lifted; God will lift up your head in the name of Jesus.
