DON’T EXPECT ACCOLADES FROM MEN IF YOU’RE LIVING A RECKLESS LIFE (Monday, 17th August 2026)
Text for Today: Prov. 4:1-18 “Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil.” (vs. 14).
Each man will determine his rating before men by the kind of life he is living. It will be a total fraud for anyone to expects people’s accolades from men while he’s living a reckless life. Life will only return back to you whatever input you made into it, and any attempt for you to expect something different from your input will land you in frustration. I laugh at times when I hear politicians, particularly elected officials in our dear country Nigeria admonishing the citizens that they have to make great sacrifices for the nation to move forward, when they themselves are living reckless lives devoid of any form of sacrifice or commitment.
Many people are fond of asking you to do what they don’t do themselves, and when you don’t comply they get angry with you, I call it madness. Beloved, I want you to know that, there are things you do in life that stripes you of respect and honour from others. Decide this minute to never again do anything that will make others to look down on you or say all manners of abusive words against you. I often say to them in our church that, any man who raises his hand to beat his wife should not expect any respect or honour from other members of his compound or neighbourhood. They begin to look at him as an animal and monster. Beloved, you are the sole determinant of the kind of respect and honour people accord you in life. Since we are surrounded by all kinds of people wherever we find ourselves in life, wisdom demands that you caution yourself all the time. Be wise!
You are a Champion!
Further Study: Prov. 5:1-23.
