THEY FLED WHEN THEIR CAPTAIN WAS BROUGHT DOWN (Friday, 28th August 2026)

Text for Today: 1 Sam. 17:48-54 “And when the Philistine saw that their champions was dead, they fled.” (vs. 51b).

Those who run away from battle today will surely confront it in a bigger way in the future. As we conclude our study today on reasons why you must confront and defeat the strongman, I want you to know that, victory over satanic agents and their activities is one of the covenant provisions of God for His children who will rise up and take responsibility through spiritual warfare. The fifth reason why you must confront and defeat the strongman is, WHEN THE STRONGMAN DIES, THE LESSER DEMONS   FLEE. In any warfare if the leader or commander is killed, the army is naturally put into disarray.

1 Sam. 17:50 “Thus David prevailed over the philistine…and killed him…and…Israel and Judah arose and pursued…the philistines and plundered their camp” (1 Samuel 17:50-53). The quickest, right and best way to defeat an enemy is by killing its leader. For forty days, the Philistines were still ranting and harassing the army of Israel as long as their champion, Goliath was still standing. However, the table turned around and the song changed the moment David killed him and cut off his head. In fact, the Bible says in verse 51b that, “And when the Philistine saw that their champion was dead, THEY FLED.” That was the natural thing that happens whenever the arrowhead of a battle falls at the battle field. I decree today that, as you confront the evil strongmen of your father’s house in battle, the Lord will bring him down before you in the name of Jesus.
