MOSES THREW THE PRIESTHOOD INHERITANCE AWAY (Sunday, 13th September 2026)
Text for Today: Ex. 4:1-17 “Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you….” (vs. 14b).
Those who turn down divine assignment deny themselves of the glory attached to it in the future. Let me start by praying for you today that, may you not stop by your own hand the divine agenda God has for your life through foolishness and complacency. Such was the case of Moses who threw away the priesthood inheritance God had purposed to keep in his lineage. When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of the land of bondage he gave God series of excuses why he would not be able to do it until God got angry with him and decided to use his senior brother Aaron as his mouth piece. But God really wanted Moses and his lineage to stand before him; however, because he rejected it, the priesthood was passed down to Aaron and his descendant till date, Numbers 17.
Are you not surprised that, we did not hear of Moses descendants ruling or standing before God? Beloved, you need to know that, there is always somebody else to take your place if you misbehave or reject the voice of the Lord. I often tell people that nobody can ever hold God to ransom. Instead of God’s purpose to stop or be aborted, He will rather change men. There can never be a vacuum when it comes to God using men and fulfilling His purpose. In 1 Kings 19:14-18, When Prophet Elijah was feeling too big in his own sight by asking for death, when he said he was the only prophet remaining in Israel, God humbled him by telling him that there are seven thousand prophets who had not bow down to Baal in Israel. May God not replace you with somebody else?
You are a Champion!
Further Study: 2 Kings 19:10-18.
