LEARN TO ACCEPT GOD’S WAYS OF DOING THINGS (Tuesday, 27th October 2026)
Text for Today: 1 Sam. 16:1-13 “Now the Lord said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing that I have rejected him from reigning over Israel?” (vs. 1a).
Learning to accept God’s ways of doing things is a sure guaranty for peace and rest in life. When I was growing up I remembered my dad telling me countless times when I wish he would give in to my request because others are doing it. He would say, just because everybody is doing it does not make it right. In the same way in our text for today Prophet Samuel had difficulty in accepting God’s decision over Saul. We were told Samuel grieved over Saul. God had rejected Saul and yet Samuel was hanging on out of respect for his king or perhaps hopes that Saul would repent.
Many times, we are unwilling to let go when our Heavenly Father says no to something and like Samuel we grieve over it and don’t move on. Samuel needed to be admonished by God to move ahead and anoint David the king. In the same way we must learn to accept what God is doing in our lives today and trust that He does in fact knows best. Rom. 8:28 says, “All things work together for good to those who loved God and to those who are called according to his purpose.” My charge to you today is, you need let go in any area you want to do it your own way and accept God’s voice in your life and thank Him for what he is doing right now, knowing that your Heavenly father loves you and has only the best interest in mind. He wants to be at work in your life. Beloved, only the man who allows God to have his way will ever get to his throne in life, while those who resist Him will struggle all through their lifetime.
You are a champion!
