NAOMI COULDN’T SEND HER BACK TO HER PEOPLE (Friday, 16th October 2026)
Text for Today: Ruth 1:6-19 “When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped speaking to her.” (vs. 18).
The glory ahead is not for the weak but for those who are strong and determined to go all the way through. There are junctions I have gotten to in life, where all hopes seem lost, humanly speaking, but something kept me on, even when it looked as if it was a foolish thing to do. Beloved, I want you to know that, those who give up easily, never get celebrated at the end of their assignment, because there will be nothing commendable around them. One of the attributes of determination is that, it sees ahead into the future and never gives up. Even when others see nothing good in a particular venture or project, a determined man will see what others can’t see and forge ahead. People may even laugh at him when he holds on to his dream, but the end result will validate his decision to go that route.
Beloved, I charge you never to waste your time trying to dissuade a determined man from forging ahead, because he will not listen to you, until he sees his dreams come to pass. From our text for today, Ruth was determined to follow her mother-in-law, because she was able to see a great future ahead, even when her mother in law saw nothing good. That was why Naomi couldn’t succeed in sending her back to her people. Ruth’s determination helped her to meet with her destiny and the glory that was waiting ahead for her. Determination has to do with courage, being strong and of good cheer. God spoke to Joshua several times and in all those times He kept telling him to be of good courage and be strong (Joshua 1:6-7).
