IGNORANCE IS ACCOMPANIED BY SHAME AND MOCKERY (Wednesday, 28th October 2026)
Text for today: 2 Kings 4:38-44 “So one went into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine and gathered it…, though they did not know what they were.” (vs. 39).
Life is fulfilling when you go through it with the right information and knowledge. Every man is a slave in the area of his ignorance, and will remain so if he fails to seek for the right knowledge. In the journey of life, information, knowledge and the kind of people you have around you will largely determine where you end up in life. Ignorance has landed not a few in difficult and terrible situations, some of whom are still in the mess up till today. From our text for today, the servant who went out into the field, and others who prepared the stew were all ignorant of the danger the wild vine could bring upon them. I do say to people that ignorance kills faster than deadly diseases very many times. If Prophet Elisha was not around, something terrible could have happened to all the people who ate from the stew.
Beloved, whoever is not informed in this age will experience shame and mockery. If those who prepared the stew had asked questions about the wild vine, they could have avoided the crisis that came up later, when men cried out and said “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” The Living Bible says “Oh, sir, there’s poison in this stew!” As you go out to your place of assignment daily, always seek for more knowledge, because ignorance is very costly. The consequences or effect of an act of ignorance could linger on for decades, so beware. This last quarter of year 2026, I pray that your dream shall not be truncated because of act of ignorance in Jesus’ name. See you at the top!
