A Father Who Wants The Best For His Children Never Stop Talking To Them
Text for Today: Hebrews 1:1-4 “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets.” (vs. 1).
The quality of a great father can be seen in the plans and dreams he sets for his children. Fatherhood is a lifetime responsibility with its challenges, sweetness and bitterness.
And a father who wants the best for his children never stops talking to them over and over again, so as to guide them on their journey. However, whenever communication breaks down between two parties, there is bound to be crisis, be it between husband and wife, leaders and followers, teacher and students and most importantly, father and children.
God’s love towards man will not let him stop talking to him through his servants so that he could change his ways and avoid impending dangers and destruction. No matter the kind of lifestyle a child lives, the father will never close his eyes to whatever goes on in his life.
And I have come to discover that any child who hearkens to the teachings and guidance of his father will live to be grateful to God for the rest of his life. A number things my father told me before he passed away thirty years ago still rings bell in my ear and am always mindful of them.
Throughout the centuries, God sent His prophets to call His people to turn to Him, repeating the message of His love and forgiveness over and over again. Finally, when the time was right, God Himself, the word made flesh, stepped into our world.
God’s message of love was clearly seen when Jesus carried our sins in His body to the cross and rose again to give us eternal life.
