Life Without God Is Like A Blunt Pencil
Text for Today: Luke 12:15-26 “And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” (vs.15).
We are not rich by what we possess for just few days, but what we have and keep till Jesus comes. Wealth is not about having a lot of money, it is about having the peace of mind which can only be gotten in God.
Only a fool does not know that his life starts and ends with God. This is because, when you get down to nothing, God is always up to something.
If you don’t have God in your life, you really have nothing, I mean nothing. Beloved, you must know that, life without God is like a blunt pencil; it has no point. If you walk with God, you will always reach your destination.
From our text for today, one day the rich man sat back and thought he had everything when he actually had nothing, because he did not know God. This man was busy hoarding his wealth only to realize that it was God who had entrusted him with all that wealth.
What does a man have that was not given to him. This man was quite sure he had done everything all by himself. He was rich in the world standard but poor in God’s eyes which led him into a pitiful entry into eternal poverty.
Life is so short, it will be over before you know what happened, what do you have that was not a gift to you? Your life, your cars, your children, your possession all are loaned to you by God. As we continue in the journey of this year, how much of your resources have you released to advance the cause of God’s kingdom this year?
There is nothing wrong with having wealth as long as you realize it belongs to God and you are using it to further His kingdom.
