BE PREPARED TO TAKE RISKS IN THE JOURNEY OF LIFE (Sunday, 5th July 2026)
Text for Today: 2 Kings 7:1-11 “and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there.” (vs. 5b).
Jim Rohn said and I quote, “If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary”. This is because only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far it is possible to go in life. As you go through your journey this second half of the year, you must be prepared to take risks because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. “If you’re not scared, you’re not taking a chance. And if you’re not taking a chance, then what the hell are you living for?” Beloved, at some junctions of life, we’re all going to have big decisions to make throughout our lives.
And in many instances, those decisions won’t be easy to take, that’s the way life goes. We need to experience what we don’t like to eventually get to the good stuff we so much desire. At times, we may need to experience failure before we can eventually find success. It’s important that we learn from those wrong decisions and use them to make us better, instead of letting them take hold of our lives. Life can be scary but attempting to conquer it with support from the people most important to us makes overcoming the difficult parts easier and celebrating the best parts even more special. From our text for today, the four lepers got scared initially, but they made up their minds to take risks and they went all out for it. Those who fail to take risks in life always live their lives full of regrets each time they come across those who did what they could not do when it matters most just because of fear.
You are a Champion!
