DON’T SHIFT THE BLAME OF YOUR FAILURE TO SOMEONE ELSE (Sunday, 1st November 2026)
Text for Today: I Samuel. 15:1-22 “But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed to sacrifice to the Lord your God.” (vs. 21).
Praise God for the privilege of seeing the eleventh month of this great year, and I pray that, it shall be a month of “Boundless Exploits” for us all in Jesus name. Whoever leaves the responsibility of an assignment given to him in the hands of those who were not there when the instruction was given will make a mess of the whole assignment. King Saul was the one Prophet Samuel delivered God’s instruction to not the people, but Saul was careless to have allowed the people to do contrary to what God instructed. The antidote to irresponsibility is to be responsible, to shoulder responsibility for your action rather than shift the blame on someone else.
Saul shifted his blame on the troop i.e. he is not responsible for the sin he had committed, the troop is. He ought to have supervised everything that went on as he led the people out in battle to ensure that the instruction was followed to the letter. Beloved, I want you to know that God doesn’t joke with any instruction He gives. For you to know how serious it is, King Saul lost the throne because of what he did with God’s instruction. Taking responsibility is what Saul rarely did, but as a child of God you can stop blaming your parents, teachers, husband, wife, children for your problem. Do as David did! As you go out each day of this new month, I charge you to take responsibility for your action, admit your wrongs, receive God’s forgiveness and cleansing, and then move forward in a new path. HAPPY NEW MONTH!
You are a Champion!
Further Study: 2 Sam 12:1-14.
