IT IS PROFITABLE AND REWARDING TO STAY HUMBLE (Monday, 30th March 2026)
Text for Today: 1 Pet. 5:5-11 “Yes all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud.” (vs. 5).
Humility is one of the good virtues we could see all through in the life of Jesus, that we must also have as believers. A proud man can never receive anything good from God; neither will he be able to enjoy divine covering. Such a person remains vulnerable and a constant object of attacks and invasion by satanic agents. The Bible says, “God resists the proud, but gives more grace to the humble.” How do you describe the life a man who God resists? That is why, a very important key to receiving God’s grace and enjoying His backing all the days of our lives, is to cloth ourselves in humility and submission before God and others.
There’s tendency to become angry and rebellious towards God for allowing us to go through certain circumstances. Joseph recognized that God in His sovereignty used even the heinous sins of his brothers to accomplish His purpose in his life. Gen. 45:8 “So now it was not you who sent me here, but God, and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.” If Joseph was not humble he would have missed it long ago. Even when Chief Mrs Potiphar lied against him he kept his cool, or what do you think he would have gained if he had revolted against his master and his wife in such a situation. They would have wasted his life, because they have the power and connection. No one displays humility and goes unrewarded by God. I charge you to remain humble, even in the midst of circumstances that are difficult or disappointing or humiliating.
